Kate Gold is a Dartmoor based, mixed media artist and poet. From an early age she has loved to create and has always been inspired by the natural world and landscapes, both in her art and writing.

As a mature student Kate gained a B.A Hons Creative Arts and subsequently, an M.A in Creative Writing at Bath Spa University. She went on to become a tutor for art and creative writing in H.M.P. Bristol and also to work with a Barnardo's Family Centre in Radstock, Somerset running art groups for young children from families in crisis.

After moving to Dartmoor in December 2018, Kate has felt the wide skies and stretching moorland influence her art and poetry. Using her own printed and painted papers to create texture and atmosphere, her mixed media collages reflect the love and connection she feels to the wild land.

Since starting the Professional Landscape Programme at Newlyn School of Art in November 2025, Kate has been exploring the winter landscapes of Dartmoor and the shapes of stones using simple printing methods on a variety of papers.

'In the Shadow of the Stones'

is a her new collection of small, unique black and white monotypes.
